The Killing of Abu Sayed

A counter forensic investigation of the killing of Abu Sayed. Sayed's death spread through Bangladesh like a spark, accelerating the movement. When the state uses its police to shoot and kill an individual, then denies it and attempts to construct a different narrative, conducting a forensic analysis of the event becomes critically important. The entire incident had to be investigated from the beginning. It was necessary to visit the site to reconstruct a complete picture of what happened, verify the authenticity of every piece of information, establish its chain of custody, reconcile discrepancies in witness accounts, and perform photogrammetry so that the primary research team could complete their work. It was an exceptional experience to have been able to work on this at the office of the renowned forensic architecture team. This was a different kind of work, one that relentlessly pursued the truth and proved how the innocent Abu Sayed was killed.
